Today I will explain you a small bit of this Virus that How it can be used to hack and even how to protect yourself from RAT (Remote Access Trojan).
What is RAT?
RAT is a VIRUS named as Remote Access Trojan.It is a type of malware that contains a back door of administrative control. If by chance you have installed this software then you are being hacked by someone. It is not like that, that you have downloaded any software of RAT. This VIRUS can be installed on your computer without even notifying you. For example if you have installed any Game or any other software then it can be attached with it and will be installed on your pc without your knowledge.
The main thing is, this VIRUS will not be shown in your computer anywhere nor in the running process and running tasks. So you cannot actually see it.
As I have already told, that this RAT VIRUS contains a Back door of administrative control so the intruder that is attacking your pc can have the following control on your computer -
1- Taking screenshots of your Computer screen
2- Formatting Drives of your Computer
3- Record your Webcam's activity and can Blackmail you
4- Accessing Confidential information from your Computer
5- Can get your Behaviour by activating Key loggers without your Knowledge
The question arises that How to protect yourself from RAT. So lets move on to it.
How to Save yourself from RAT (Remote Access Trojan)?
You can always Turn On the Firewall Protection on your Windows. But this is not enough, you should always have a good antivirus which should be updated. Is this enough? Not it is not enough. Even the combination of both, Antivirus and Firewall Protection can not actually save you sometimes from these type of Malwares.
Few Basic points to prevent yourself-
1- You should always use your common sense before installing any software from the Internet.
2- You can check out the installed softwares on your PC in the control panel of your pc at a regular basis. If any software is unnecessary then you can uninstall it.
3- Don't click on any attachment sent to your account whether it is Gmail,yahoo or something else.
